Mike Hagensick is the co-founder and director of the Panther Academy for Water Safety and the current assistant swim coach at UNI. Prior to these roles, Mike taught as a special education teacher at the Waverly-Shell Rock Middle School. He is a UNI alum, earning a degree in elementary education in 2012 and a masters degree in special education from Morningside College in 2017. Mike serves as an advisor for the Auburn University Pediatric Movement and Physical Activity Lab and was an author on the most recent cover article for Palaestra, an adapted sports, physical education, and recreational therapy journal. He is also the co-founder of the adaptive Ninja U program.
